Toms
I have not written for a few weeks as i have been a little busy with Palestine On A Plate and also to be honest, i have been feeling a little disturbed by the news and what has been happening in Palestine and the rest of the world.
But something came up that was interesting for me to write about and thought i would share it with you all. Of course we all know what happened in Gaza, and countless other parts of Palestine, but in particular in Gaza. There is a company for those who do not know called Toms, which is an American run company founded by Blake Mycoskie. They are a shoe company. They began their brand saying that for every pair of shoes they sold, they would donate one to a child in a less fortunate country and this was their Unique selling point (USP).
They have grown to be a very successful company and for all good reason. They have now collaborated with the UNRWA (United Nations Relief Works Agency) to provide free footwear for refugee children in Gaza and Jordan who have been devastated by the massacre that has passed only last summer.
In March alone, over 100,000 Toms shoes were distributed in Gaza.
Such and amazing job for all those in need. All it takes is on person to start for the rest to follow.
With Love, From Palestine
