Palestine is Beautiful .....

Lina Sleibi, has had music in her blood since birth. She comes from an artistic family in Palestine and through out her young diverse career as a singer she has reached a wonderful high note by covering the ever so famous Dalida's song Helwa ya Baladi.

This song was originally written to Lebanon the home of Dalida, but Lina, and her group of musicians took to the rooftops of Bethlehem and revisted the song. The song with the original words was sang on the rooftops for her beloved Palestine. And how fitting it is. And also how beautiful ....

Here is a translation of this iconic song:

A beautiful word and then two more*
You're beautiful, my country
A beautiful song and then two more
You're beautiful, my country

I always hoped to return
To you, my country
And stay beside you
Always and forever

Memories of everything that's passed
Do you remember, my country?
My heart is full of stories
Do you remember, my country?

My first love was in my country
I'll never forget him, my country
Where there are times of old
Before we parted ways

We were saying that this
Separation was impossible
And every tear was
Running down my cheek

I was full of hope that
We would remain there
In the sea of love,
On the shores

A beautiful word and then two more*
You're beautiful, my country
A beautiful song and then two more
You're beautiful, my country

Where is my sweetheart, my country?
He was so far away from me, my country
And whenever I sing,
I think of him

Tell me, darling, where have you gone and left me?
We'll both sing this beautiful tune
The words, my country, are so beautiful in a song between two
Ya lel ya en... Ya en ya lel
Ya leli, ya leli leli**

A beautiful word and then two more*
You're beautiful, my country
A beautiful song and then two more
You're a moon, my country

I always hoped to return
To you, my country
And stay beside you
Always and forever

Oh oh oh
You're a moon, my country

You're beautiful, my country
Oh oh oh
